"Unfortunately, "vodka", "beer" and "wine" lobby are actively working at the Parliament, introducing certain legislative regulations in the interests of alcohol beverages producers, threatening public health", - stated Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, after the Bill "On Amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine concerning Facilitation of Entrepreneurship" (Reg. No. 4581) had been scrutinized.

The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that another attempt of such pursuits had been undertaken while adopting the Bill "On Amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine concerning Facilitation of Entrepreneurship" on 25 June. The amendment that abolishes special requirements and lifts restrictions concerning the places of retail sale of wine was endorsed. "This amendment actually allowed the unrestricted sale of wine to any persons, in any places and to any group of consumers, including the minors", - stated M.Tomenko.

M.Tomenko stressed that lifting of restrictions on the sale of wine could result in the uncontrolled sale of this alcoholic beverage.

M.Tomenko is satisfied with the fact that the Parliament supported his standpoint and cancelled the Bill with the lobby regulation. He expects that the Parliament will further uphold corresponding restrictions concerning consumption and sale of low-alcoholic beverages and beer, as envisaged by the Amendments to the Law "On the State Regulation of Production and Turnover of Ethyl Alcohol, Cognac and Fruit Spirit, Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Goods" (Reg. No. 1171) drafted by M.Tomenko, N.Korolevska and Ye.Suslov.
